laser beams shooting at my eyeballs...oh noz!!
Just wanted to let you all know that I will be AWOL for a bit. My PRK Laser Eye surgery is scheduled for this Thursday July 5. While I am looking forward to it, I also do have some trepidations of course. Supposedly the pain after PRK surgery is quite a bit more than LASIK and the recovery time is longer. I may not be able to get onto the computer for a few days until my vision is good enough again. It all depends how fast my eyes heal...
Hopefully I can make it for the Sunday GVG.

Sorry didn't post back here afterwards. Was discussing with everyone in the guild online and such.
Bottom line. So far I am very pleased with the results! It has been almost 3 weeks now since the surgery and I am just now starting to see close to 20/20 which is a miracle considering how bad my eyes were before (-6 in left and -8 in right eye!). The healing is still ongoing with a very slight haziness at certain times of the day (mostly in the evening) and I am told not to expect final outcome until possibly even 3 months. But I can tell you that it is fantastic not needing glasses or contacts for the first time in my life since I was 7 years old!
The surgery itself was a bit uncomfortable but nothing too extreme. Not as painfull as I expected afterwards either. My vision was very blurry for the first week and moderately blurry for the week after that. I am only now about 18-19 days after starting to clear up nicely. If someone is able to get LASIK surgery instead they would of course bypass this long healing time and get to their final outcome much quicker. But I suppose I just need to be patient still and allow the healing to continue.
So far no complaints and I have no regrets doing it! Quite the opposite actually.
